Jackery has expanded its lineup of portable power solutions with the announcement of the Explorer 100D, a new portable power station that leverages the safer and longer-lasting lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry the company initially introduced to its product catalog in 2023. What truly sets the new Explorer 100D apart within the crowded mobile power market, however, is its exceptionally compact physical footprint. Measuring a mere 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches and tipping the scales at just 1.87 pounds, it stands as Jackery’s smallest power station to date. Despite its remarkably diminutive stature and a 96Wh, or 30,000mAh, battery capacity, the device is engineered to fit comfortably into a standard carry-on bag, offering travelers a reliable way to power multiple electronic devices during a long-haul flight or an extended commute far away from traditional wall outlets.

Consumers eager to get their hands on the new power station will not have to wait long. The Jackery Explorer 100D is scheduled to become widely available starting November 15th through major retailers like Walmart, where it will carry a retail price tag of $99. For shoppers who prefer not to wait until the official launch date, the power station is already available for purchase through Costco, though it is currently sold exclusively as a two-pack bundle priced at $179.99. While tech consumers can readily find smaller and cheaper standalone 30,000mAh portable chargers scattered across the broader electronics market, Jackery emphasizes the distinct advantages of the internal chemistry chosen for this model. According to the company, the LFP cells utilized in the Explorer 100D are specifically engineered for up to eight years of regular use, boasting an impressive 3,000 charge cycle lifespan that should easily allow it to outlast and outperform competing products built with more common, conventional lithium-ion battery cells.
Despite being considerably smaller and lighter than Jackery’s other larger portable power stations, such as the high-capacity backup units designed for home emergencies and off-grid camping excursions, the manufacturer has still managed to incorporate thoughtful physical design elements into the 100D. The device features an integrated handle to make grabbing it on the go effortless, and the company also offers an optional shoulder strap for users who prefer a hands-free approach to carrying it around an airport or a hiking trail. On the front control panel of the power station, users will find a versatile selection of connection options, including a pair of high-powered 140W USB-C ports alongside an additional 18W USB-A port for legacy accessories. Because the Explorer 100D maxes out at a total combined output of 158W, power delivery across the available ports will be dynamically reduced when all three connections are actively in use simultaneously.

For situations where users find themselves far away from any electrical grid, unable to locate a functioning wall outlet, and fortunate enough to have packed a compatible solar panel alongside their luggage, the Explorer 100D offers practical off-grid recharging capabilities. The power station supports up to 100W of direct solar input, a feature that enables the internal LFP battery to replenish itself back up to 80 percent capacity in approximately an hour and a half under optimal sunlight conditions.
