Pokémon Go Minior Shower schedule

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have structured Minior’s arrival around these celestial happenings, giving players specific windows to hunt down the Pokémon. To help trainers prepare for the event, a formal schedule has been released outlining when these cosmic visitors will touch down in the wild. The very first Minior Shower event in Pokémon Go is scheduled to run from Oct. 19 through Oct. 24, kicking off a new era of themed spawns for the mobile title.

How to Find Minior in Pokémon Go

Unlike standard wild spawns that populate the overworld continuously, Minior operates under strict environmental conditions within Pokémon Go. The Pokémon is exclusively available to encounter during active meteor showers. During these designated event windows, trainers will find that Minior spawns significantly more frequently during evening hours, specifically between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. local time on the active dates.

Visually, Minior presents a distinct design featuring a rugged, brown outer shell encasing a vibrant, glowing inner core. These cores come in a wide array of different colors, mirroring the mainline console games. Niantic has confirmed that various core colors will debut during specific meteor showers over time, adding a layer of collection depth for dedicated players. At the time of the initial debut, however, Minior’s elusive shiny variant will not yet be available in the game, meaning trainers will have to wait for a future update to hunt for its color-shifted form.

In addition to its unique spawning mechanics, Minior introduces a dynamic battle mechanic that shifts its stat distribution depending on its current health status. When encountering and utilizing Minior in eligible battles, the Pokémon begins in its Meteor Form, protected by its sturdy brown shell. In this initial state, Minior boasts significantly higher defense paired with lower attack capabilities.

However, once the Pokémon loses 50 percent of its total hit points during combat, the protective outer shell breaks away, revealing the brilliant colored core underneath. Transitioning into its Core Form drastically alters Minior’s combat parameters, flipping its stats to grant higher attack power at the cost of reduced defense. For the initial rollout, this form-changing mechanic will be restricted to specific battle environments, functioning in player-versus-player Trainer Battles, encounters against Team Go Rocket grunts and leaders, and battles against team leaders, while remaining limited outside of those specific modes.

The introduction of Minior marks a shift toward more event-driven, time-sensitive wildlife tracking in Pokémon Go, tying digital spawn rates directly to real-world astronomical patterns. While developers have indicated that additional meteor shower events will be integrated into the game calendar as the year progresses, the initial batch of dates establishes the framework for how players will encounter the Pokémon moving forward.

Each scheduled Minior Shower event officially begins at 5 p.m. local time on the opening day and concludes at 11:59 p.m. local time on the final day of the window. Trainers planning to add Minior and its various core color variations to their Pokédex will need to monitor the active evening hours closely during these dates to maximize their encounter opportunities before the meteor showers pass and the celestial Pokémon returns to the cosmos.
