Bitcoin Bulls Surge Back as U.S. ETFs Pull in Nearly $1 Billion in Massive Daily Inflow

The Bitcoin bulls have officially returned to the market, driven by a powerful wave of institutional capital flowing back into U.S. spot exchange-traded funds. According to the latest data tracked by Farside Investors, U.S. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds pulled in a staggering $999 million in net new investment on Monday, marking a dramatic resurgence of market enthusiasm and institutional participation.

This capital influx represents the largest single-day haul for these investment vehicles since October 6, when total daily inflows surpassed $1.2 billion. That historic October session coincided with the leading cryptocurrency scaling a new all-time high price of $126,080. While prices have not yet retested those record peaks, the renewed buying pressure has injected substantial momentum back into the digital asset ecosystem.

Bitcoin’s price recently hovered around $86,552 after briefly scraping an intraday high of $87,330 during Monday’s trading session. This upward trajectory continues a robust weekly performance, with the premier cryptocurrency surging by nearly 13% over the past seven days. Market participants are increasingly viewing this price action as more than a fleeting technical bounce, pointing instead to fundamental shifts in liquidity and institutional adoption as the primary drivers.

U.S. Bitcoin ETFs, which received landmark approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2024, have fundamentally transformed how traditional financial markets interact with digital assets. These regulated financial products have successfully bridged the gap for institutional and retail investors who previously faced operational, regulatory, or custodial hurdles when attempting to gain direct exposure to cryptocurrency. Wall Street firms, pension funds, wealth managers, and individual investors can now seamlessly buy and sell shares of funds managed by prominent asset managers like BlackRock, Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, and others directly through traditional brokerage accounts.

When massive institutional allocations hit these spot investment vehicles, the underlying market mechanics often trigger significant price movements across the broader digital asset economy—a phenomenon vividly demonstrated during Monday’s heavy trading sessions. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart highlighted the broader health of these investments on Monday, noting that the average ETF buyer is now firmly in profit. According to Seyffart’s analysis, the estimated aggregate ETF cost basis surged above $81,720 for the first time since January, underscoring the strong profitability supporting the current investor base.

A closer look at the breakdown of Monday’s capital inflows reveals that major financial institutions captured the lion’s share of the new allocations. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust led the pack by a wide margin, commanding $381.4 million in net daily investment. Following closely behind, the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF pulled in $289.1 million, while Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund absorbed $238.8 million, demonstrating broad-based institutional demand across multiple issuers rather than a localized spike in a single fund.

This sudden resurgence of institutional interest in Bitcoin coincides with a broader macroeconomic rotation. Market analysts point out that investor focus has pivoted toward alternative asset classes as the high-flying artificial intelligence stock rally has visibly cooled in recent weeks. Furthermore, pivotal monetary policy and fiscal announcements made by the U.S. government have dramatically altered the liquidity landscape.

In August, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced plans to at least double the size of its liquidity-support buyback operations. According to financial analysts, this strategic maneuver effectively pushed 30-year Treasury yields downward, weakened the broader U.S. dollar, and significantly enhanced the appeal of non-yielding, scarce assets like Bitcoin as a hedge against fiat devaluation. Following that policy shift, the leading cryptocurrency embarked on one of its most sustained and powerful bull runs in years, defying skeptics and re-establishing its macroeconomic credentials.

Adding further weight to the bullish narrative, a comprehensive market report published Tuesday by crypto market data firm CryptoQuant indicated that the premier digital asset has decisively crossed above its 365-day moving average. Technical analysts widely regard this critical threshold as a definitive market signal confirming that the asset has fully exited its previous bear market phase and transitioned into a sustainable upward trajectory. With institutional inflows rebounding sharply, macroeconomic tailwinds aligning in favor of scarce assets, and key technical indicators turning green, market participants are increasingly confident that the latest bull run is built on a solid foundation.
